This is what youíre getting by using complete boat inspections ;
A very competent commercial skipper since 1992, loads of prior private marine pleasure and an automotive trade background.
My name is Glen Forte, Iím here to give you the low down on what your about to buy. Iíve been around boats since I was 6 and have had a career in the marine industry that Iím really happy with.
From towing water skiers to rebuilding big engines, ďIíve been everywhere manĒ lol. Iíve Driven Hundreds of different boats and would say Iíve seen it all, but thereís always something new to see and learn and I love that about that, so I canít say that.
I started in water sports in 91 commercially, mainly water skiing and scuba diving, then on to parasailing and jet skis, not to mention sailing, I love it all. Have also worked in the film industry for 8 years doing marine work, special effects, stunts and art.
All along the way Iíve built a lot of engines and fixed many boats. Iíve worked at dealerships; Iíve ran service departments and currently have my own workshop where I selectively do repairs or services. If thereís something I canít do then and there, itís a phone call away from getting organised with the trusted external services I work with.
Basically, youíre in good hands!
On land inspections tell a lot, but having a sea trial is just as important. Who buys a car without driving it first? We need to remember that you canít just get out and walk when youíre in a boat. You need to be sure your coming back vs being rescued. Some of the boats I have inspected have had the water test cancelled by me as they were not fit for a sea trial, let alone a day out with the family.
